About Are Americans doing the jobs illegals refuse to do

Are Americans doing the jobs illegals refuse to do?
TUCSON - It's an ugly side effect of illegal immigration. Border-crossers have dumped thousands of pounds of trash -- clothing and other litter -- across the southern Arizona desert. This week, prison inmates from Tucson are being sent out to pick it up, and they are earning 50 cents an hour doing it. That might not seem like much to you or I, but it's pretty generous for those behind bars. Fighting through thick brush, they're finding everything from water bottles, to old cell phones, to backpacks. A 12-man crew is going to work, and believe it or not, they're glad to be out there. "It's a taste of freedom," one inmate told us. "I'm enjoying it." The workers are all minimum security inmates who have behaved themselves behind bars. Still, correctional officers stand guard while they work. Tucson Prison Warden Therese Schroeder says she is proud of the work they're doing. "They're following all the rules, and this gives them an opportunity to be out of the prison walls," she says. "The mess, it's a horror for our desert. And to clean it up, it's unbelievable. And how much pride the inmates take in putting this back the way it should be." The collected garbage is put in large plastic trash bags. By mid-day, 100 bags were already full. Each inmate hauls away a trash bag by hand and then hikes more than a mile to deposit the garbage. Inmate work crews will be back out every day for the rest of this week, hitting up some other spots that need to be cleaned up. http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/dpp/news/immigration/inmates-on-work-release-clean-up-desert-4-25-2011

Go on line and check out the trash these law breakers are leaving in our National Parks! Abandoned camp sites, garbage, etc. Makes me sick.
2 :
illegals are such disgusting slobs. In Mexico, wherever there is an empty lot or field, they use it to throw empty bottles and other garbage in. In the US, they just throw it on the ground like they do in their own country.
3 :
Yes, just like the Chinese are charitably adopting American babies.
4 :
70% of illegals are on welfare. Even if they where working it would be bad. Engineers have the job of making machines that will do retard slave labor.
5 :
Doest surprise me, have you ever drove by a house known too house nothing but illegals, its all trashed out. There is like house trash on the lawn not to mention all those beer cans.Went into middle Mexico last year and all I have to say is they are the trashiest people I have ever seen. And I have traveled the world. They even beat our white trash here in the USA.Just plain nasty.A patient keeps coming into the ER where I work and every time she comes in she has lice. You can tell she lives in filth and has no shame about it.And its a myth that Americans wont do the work that illegals do.Illegals don't work that hard, most live off the welfare the get from anchor babies.
6 :
Im surprised everybody is overlooking the biggest issue here. Mexicans are products of their own corrupt government. They live by what they can and the economy is so low 70% or more is under poverty. The own government is sending their people to hell, the reason why they flee north is to escape it. So I'd recommend a bit of mexican history to everyone here. As for those "poor inmates" picking up trash after being in "their best behavior" behind bars, pfft that's pure nonsense. Those people are there for a reason and I'm glad they are repaying society this way or whatever way possible. Maybe if it was school kids doing it or orphans or something then yes it'd unfair. But its people behind bars that commited much worser crimes than the mexicans crossing the border trying to make a better life for themselves and their families.
7 :
illegals claim they come here to do the work no else will so do their supporters will years ago irish polish chinese did the same type of labor work the smart thing they did was they move on to better things so don't claim your the only group of people that did this type of work
8 :
I believe this is an excellent activity for inmates. It truly is a chance to be free and outside in the "free world" as they tend to call it. I would like to see more of it. As to how your question relates to this, I have no idea what you're talking about. Inmates and what work they are willing to do is far different than what illegal aliens or other Americans may do. Being incarcerated makes such a comparison irrational.
9 :
I think they should round up the illegals and make them clean it up as part of their sentence for entering illegally, which on the first offense is 6 months. But our government fails to enforce. Set up camps nd when their sentence is done, send them over the border or back to what ever country they came from! And there is no job that American won't do!!

Will I get killed, kidnapped, or Victimized by hatred when i move to Tucson Arizona?
I'm a nice, well mannered, respectful, African American. I am going to Tucson Arizona for some work. I am trying to avoid all racial conflict. What are my chances of being victimized by a racist? and what places in Tucson should I stay away from?

As an african american you probably don't "look illegal" like mexican american me. So you should be just fine. Me on the other hand.. ill be staying in Texas where the tar n feathering of the illegal lookin folks is not accepted. good luck bro..
2 :
You'll be fine in Tucson. Remember the city of Tucson (and Phoenix) has filed a lawsuit to try to block the new immigration law. There are other parts of the State where you could surely expect to run into white supremecists - Kingman, for example.
3 :
Tucson is the ghetto. The best parts of Tucson are the Northwest and Vantanya Canyon areas, which are of course ridiculously expensive. Your next best bet is the East side or my personal affordable favorite is Rita Ranch, yes it's far away, but well worth it. Surprisingly, there are a ton of African Americans here. I live on the East and there are apartments down the way off of Pantano with a majority of African Americans. There are also a large amount of Somali immigrants, which I was told immigrated here because of the tourism industry due to the war ( I don't know how true that is because the economy here is AWFUL!) I haven't noticed any prejudice out here, but I am white I do have half Asian children though and they haven't expirenced anything. The problem is that the city is full of drugs, alcoholics, gangs, home burglaries, and murders. It's a border town so there is a potential for being kidnapped, I don't walk anywhere because my husband will not allow it. I just moved here from the Seattle area (South King County) and this place sucks. Been here five months and we are moving back in the next few months. I can't let my kids go to school here, the school district is one of the worse in the country like the bottom 3 I think. I don't know where you are moving from and I understand jobs are hard to come by but really this place is so so low. I just ran into somebody for the Oregon area and said I was from the NW and just moved here and she got a horrified look on her face and said "WHY!!!???" She moved here six months ago and some person just got murdered in her apartment complex the other day so she is moving away from there. Seriously, the only people that like it here are the ones born and raised here and that's just because they don't know any better. My husband is from here and thought it was tolerable, but really it's not. He's excited about moving away. It was fun when I was visiting here, but to live here is ridonkulous. PS: stay away from the Central area and the West side and Southwest side those are super duper ghetto. Depending on your budget and transpertation abilites shoot for the Eastside or Rita Ranch area. Well wishes and best of luck to you. PSS: the housing market here is going to emplode, but you can get a great deal on a house. For example there's a four bedroom house in Vail (just south of Tucson) on a golf course with a swimming pool in a beautiful area for $250k. First sold for about a half a million dollars (that's just insane to me and if we were staying I would try to buy it).

Aw, no one has answered. I think Sonic hires at 14. Some grocery stores hire baggers at 14, I think. That's all I know of. Almost everywhere is 16. Some stores in malls won't hire until 18.

It depends on your age. Think about safety first. If you're under 15 or 16 you can be preyed on by really awful people if you are alone at someone's home or out alone in public. But setting that aside, start with your own family and any relatives or friends in the area. Ask your parents if they have any big, unpleasant jobs they will pay you to do. When I was young I got paid to paint our entire garage (I had prior experience from helping our family paint the house and fences). When you run out of that kind of work that your parents are happy to have you take off their hands, ask them if you can call some neighbors or local relatives with the same question -- do they have any big or small jobs you can take off their hands to earn some spending money? Just make sure that when someone trusts you with work, you put your best effort into it and do a quality job, reasonably quickly. Don't abuse their trust in any way. That will bring you more jobs in the future. Do you have any skills like handyman jobs you can do? If so, be sure to mention it. Depending on your abilities and what is safe where you live and at your age, maybe you could offer to do jobs like washing windows. To find out how much to charge, you could try calling a few window washers to see what they would charge to do your house Charge less when you're new. Also, if any of your friends or relatives (or their family) owns a small business, there are often opportunities there.

Arizona no longer requires a Work Permit for teenagers seeking employment. YOu only have to provide your employer with proof of citizenship and age. You must be 14, so you qualify. A birth certificate should be fine.

About Should I just get a new Battery for my 2005 Hyundai Tucson

Should I just get a new Battery for my 2005 Hyundai Tucson?
My Tucson has been working perfectly fine since I got it new in 2005. Today I needed a jump at the car wash because my battery died. I talked about it with my dad, and he recommended gently tapping the battery's clamps with a hammer to knock off any gunk that may be blocking the connection...or replacing the battery and starting fresh in that area. Considering that it has been five years, would a new battery be the way to go?

Crystale, If your battery is five years old i would not hesitate to purchase a new one and not get stranded again........Batteries normaly do not last five years so you got more out of yours than most batteries......hope this helps....
2 :
Go to the parts store of your choice, they will test the battery. 5 years off of an original battery is good. You should have no complaints on changing it out. Always keep the terminal connections clean.
3 :
hey sounds like ur battery is going out but check your charging system at a local autozone or parts store for free: battery: clean, free of acid post tighten? alternator:is it charging anymore, is the power hooked up or wiring wiring to battery and alternator:free from acid are thighten it can be both, u can buy a 1million dollar battery but if the alternator is not working then its worthless so check both
4 :
i would get it tested, but maybe you just left your lights on and it drained it.

About UPS Job in Tucson, AZ after the military

UPS Job in Tucson, AZ after the military?
My husband has two years left in the United States Marine Corps. but when he gets out he really wants to work for UPS. I think this would be a great job for him, but he really wants to work in Tucson, AZ. Does anyone know if there are always job availabilities for UPS truck drivers in Tucson, AZ or should he put his name on a wait list, and if he does put his name on a wait list, what would happen if his contract with the military isn't over with? Will they hold his position? Thank you in advance.

the only way to get hired by ups anymore is to go to their web site. they even have a place there you can put his name on a waiting list and they will call you when i job comes up. https://ups.managehr.com/opportunities/main.html
2 :
To add to what the previous person said, you go to http://www.upsjobs.com and submit an application. Provided your husband has no criminal record, he will be a candidate should a position be open. If he's a college student using his GI bill, he will get favor over non-college students because they are looking for leaders. He needs to be in decent shape. Being a UPSer in operations can be strenuous at times but you have to want to succeed! Think of it as an aerobic workout and getting paid! Now, regarding the truck driving dream... your husband will have to work up for that. It's all about seniority. It starts off with you being a package handler, making $8.50/hr. You work 4 to 5 hours a day and the job is from Monday to Friday. Whoot!~ Insurance is AWESOME. Employees, spouses, and children are FREE last time I checked and benefits I think start at 6 months after hire. Now - how do you move up? Once a driver position comes open, you can bid on a delivery route in a package car. You can then work your way up the ladder to better routes and as a driver the pay get's REALLY GOOD. You do earn the money though and he'll put in the hours--a LOT of hours. By the way, I know former marines who are drivers so your husband can do this! He just needs to land the job and have patience. You may have to work also while he's a part-timer. Sacrifice and get ahead but it'll be worth it. Driver jobs come open from as soon as 6 months and up to 7 or 8 years for smaller centers. It just depends on if a driver is retiring. Sorry so long but good luck. UPS is a GREAT company with GREAT people! =)
3 :
If he want to work for ups in Az he might want to call one of the ups put there to make sure that he could get one out there if he applies for it..As for the military if he has 2 years left he can accept to relist with them or resign. He is the one who has the opption to do another so many years with the marines..

Ask your counselor at school. The only types of jobs you'll be able to do at that age are things such as babysitting, yard work, errand-running, dog-walking, etc. And, if you want to go to COLLEGE [note spelling], you should also spend some time working on your spelling; e.g. have no idea what "hoer" is.
