Interesting. Too bad you speak English and are not an illegal, because I don't think age is an issue with their U.S. employers. Living in Tucson, I'm thinking you're not too many miles away from the Mexican border. Would it be possible for you to cross over and find some type of part-time menial job after school and then cross back after your shift?

Any recommendations for a good Tucson, AZ Internet Service Provider?
I'm moving to Tucson, AZ for work soon and I've been researching ISPs for good DSL service with no luck. They're either all dial-up, don't have service in my area, or have really negative reviews. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I think Qwest, Cox, or Comcast seem to be your options. Qwest and Cox are pretty much everywhere in Tucson but Comcast isn't in all Tucson areas. Any ideas on where I can buy them???? Thx. I would like to buy the re-engineered wood chips. I do not want rubber pellets as I have a 7 month old who has a year of putting stuff in her mouth to come and the rubber pellets are a choking hazard.

You can buy wood chips at any local hardware store as in Tru-Value, Home Depot or Lowe's. Also where they sell the wood sets that have slides, swings.etc would have them as an accessory or add on to the equipment.

Lowes or Home Depot should have them. I would look at Rubber Mulch too. Not the Rubber Pellets, the stuff that is a lot more like wood chips.

Although you are worried about choking on rubber pellets, a child will put pieces of mulch in his mouth, too. Problems with wood mulch - decay, breakage, insects, moisture retention (mushrooms and mold), slivers, and the bits cling to clothing and leave stains. They get tracked inside and make a mess at every doorway. AND, mulch doesn't provide as much protection against falls as pea gravel. Pea gravel is made up of small, smooth stones (like the size of a bean). 4 inches of pea gravel provides as much protection as 12 inches of mulch -- and you probably aren't putting in a foot of mulch. The smooth stones actually shift to absorb the impact of an object falling. They don't harbor insects, dry quickly after rain (if the bottom of the play area has decent drainage), don't cling to clothing, and are easier to sweep back into the play yard. AND the same batch will last for years, instead of having to be replaced each year like the decaying mulch.

No. But I have looked over their employment information and dealt with someone who worked in Tucson recently; before moving or being transferred. My impression is that it would be a good place to work, as far as call centers go, if you are personable and enjoy customer service, learning about insurance. Considering the company ownership and management you will no doubt have access to good training and possibly one of the more secure jobs you might find these days. I am also familiar with the area. If it is the office I'm thinking about; you won't have any parking fees and maybe even some shade for your vehicle. In fact, if I didn't have something else on my plate, it would be a prospective job I would pursue. Good luck.

I live and work in Tucson AZ and I want to file a Civil Lawsuit against my employer for hositle work enviornment. I have already filed an EEO Claim, note that it is a Federal Agency that I work, but they are just playing a song and dance and are not addressing the issue. What do I do next. How Long is the Commute From Tucson to Ft. Huachuca?
Mapquest says one hour, thirty minutes. Mayflowers98 says one hour. Other sources say the traffic is HORRENDOUS. Does anyone make this commute (living in Tucson, working at Ft. Huachuca)?

If you are working DoD hours, better plan on 1+ hour. Tucson is spread out, so different parts of town will have differences in times.

yea did it for a year. it would take 1 hour 18 mins doing the speed limit. I have done it in 54 mins door to door.

I used to make this drive a lot and that was before the highway was improved (I left Huachuca in '96). It used to take me about an hour and twenty minutes. The road is much better now, but don't speed because the Cochise County Sheriff's Dept. sucks and will write you up for 5 mph over. I can't imagine that it takes any more time now than then. Even so, you might want to consider moving to Vail or one of the new areas SE of Tucson near I-10.

Man its an easy trip... its just boring its an hour cuz there is a speed trap on the way there.. so once you get off of 10 and you see the speed drop.. follow the direction and slow down. make sure you get gas in tucson.. cuz the gas station right off of 10 is pricey.

It seems I am either too qualified, or not qualified enough. I would say that virtually half of the Tucson workforce has my resume and I am working on contacting the other half!! My unemployment has run out....thanks to my previous fiscal responsibility, I have stayed afloat...but the tap is running dry. I have swallowed my pride and even applied for receptionist positions which I could perform blindfolded, but I am deemed over qualified and not considered. Dear Kathi, You definitely seem like very responsible person with abundance of skills and experience. In my opinion you are simply a volunteer victim of your own employee mentality. A loyal employee mentality was much cherished and needed some 30 or even 20 years ago, not today however. Large and small corporations are moving abroad, downsizing or merging; there is no more corporate nor an employee loyalty; corporate greed is looking after its own interests only. They have to, for they are forced to by constantly changing order in economy. To find a company in North America where one would just get a position to stay in till retirement is virtually impossible and if you find a place that seems to be solid, be prepared to look for a job again in just a few years time. On the positive side of things, economy is GLOBAL. We do no longer need to depend on economy nor job situation in our city, county, state nor our country anymore. I would strongly recommend to step back and to have a good hard look at yourself. There are countless opportunities for a person like you in today's ever growing Home Based Business worldwide, with rewards much much higher that any employer could ever pay you. I suggest to stop putting the price tag on yourself and begging for a job. You, in my opinion are not only worth, but most of all you do deserve much more than just a job (Just Over Broke). I wish I could offer you something, but I live further North in Arizona, and I don't have anything right now. I know it's tough out there - but hang on - the right something may be around the corner. You're doing the right thing by getting your name out there - and don't worry about being too qualified for something - get your foot in the door and *then* show them what you can do - you'll move up quickly. Dear Kathi, You definitely seem like very responsible person with abundance of skills and experience. In my opinion you are simply a volunteer victim of your own employee mentality. A loyal employee mentality was much cherished and needed some 30 or even 20 years ago, not today however. Large and small corporations are moving abroad, downsizing or merging; there is no more corporate nor an employee loyalty; corporate greed is looking after its own interests only. They have to, for they are forced to by constantly changing order in economy. To find a company in North America where one would just get a position to stay in till retirement is virtually impossible and if you find a place that seems to be solid, be prepared to look for a job again in just a few years time. On the positive side of things, economy is GLOBAL. We do no longer need to depend on economy nor job situation in our city, county, state nor our country anymore. I would strongly recommend to step back and to have a good hard look at yourself. There are countless opportunities for a person like you in today's ever growing Home Based Business worldwide, with rewards much much higher that any employer could ever pay you. I suggest to stop putting the price tag on yourself and begging for a job. You, in my opinion are not only worth, but most of all you do deserve much more than just a job (Just Over Broke). Give it a serious thought please.

Mission Work in Tucson or Pheonix Arizona?
I just got back from my third mission project with AMOR MINISTRIES. this trip really had an impact on me and I want to continue doing mission work. I was thinking of painting a mural somewhere or even just volunteering at a hospital or soup kitchen. heres the problem : I'm only 14. what can I do? thanks for the help GOD BLESS

The bridge/walkway is stationary while the the tube that surrounds the walkway is rotating. Your mind focuses on the moving column you are in instead of the stationary walkway you are going down. It is similar to motion sickness where your brain thinks that since everything around you is going around then you must be going around as well. The bottom grating of the walkway is also purposely see-through so that you can't focus on anything sizable and stationary which magnifies the effect more.

About Desperate for work in Tucson
Desperate for work in Tucson?
I recently moved to Tucson from Mesa because I wanted to relocate and had a job waiting. I was terminated and I find myself unemployed, I'll be able to collect unemployment. It has been two and a half days and I have about twenty-five appts out and an interview tomorrow. Is it hard to find work in Tucson. My husband is also unemployed with three weeks of unemployment left. What are others doing during these hard times?

It's tough, I had to move out of beautiful Idaho for lack of work. I live in Colorado now, not crazy about it but there are plenty of jobs here. Sometimes you have to do things you don't want to do for the sake of survival, and it's only gonna get worse.

This isn't the best time to go into real estate, so keep your other job for a while. The large real estate companies, such as Coldwell Banker, and Century 21 offer training for new agents. You will need money to live on until you start earning, which could be months. A possibility is also working as an assistant or part of a team with experienced agents. Go talk to several companies before you make up your mind.

Where you "hang your license" should be based on the following: do you want to take listings? do you want to represent buyers? you should NOT do both of these even though it is legal to do so, that is called DUAL agency and it gets agents into trouble. Soon you will not be able to do both. next, you need to choose a 100% office or a split office [regarding commissions]. if you wish to do commercial, industrial, land, cemetary or time shares, find a broker who will agree to these types of transactions. Lastly--you do have another choice-- you can hire a broker....... u pay him/her x $ a mo and you do pretty much what you wish to do. YOU can even work in Tucson out of your home and hang your license with me [not necessarily the best thing for you but a choice never the less.]

im having trouble finding a doctor or a place that approves AHCCES Health Choice insurance. and im really in need of new glasses and everything but i casnt find a place, can anyone help or is any one familiar to this.?? This is in Tucson Arizona.
